Piper (she/her), has joined the Fringe team as the Marketing & Social Media Intern for the 2024 festival and we are delighted to have her!
Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, (amiskwacîwâskahikan, Treaty 6 Territory), Piper moved out West to pursue a degree in Art, Performance, and Cinema Studies from Simon Fraser University. She is three years into her studies and thrilled to be exploring beautiful British Columbia as a visitor on xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ lands.
Piper spent many summers attending Edmonton’s own festival scene. She has fond memories of attending Edmonton’s Fringe and Folk Music Festivals each year and attributes those memories to her passion for what she does today. Working in the realm of marketing and communications, Piper strives to create an environment within the arts that people can find community and friendship within. She’s eager to become more involved with Vancouver’s festival scene and getting to know her community.
When asked about joining the team, Piper said:
“I feel extremely lucky to be joining the team this year, and to have the opportunity to get to know Vancouver Fringe! I’m looking forward to meeting other festival-lovers and learning as much as I can from all the talented individuals both on the team and participating in the festival.”
Rachael Brewin-Caddy, Marketing & Events Coordinator added:
I’m so thrilled to have Piper join us as the Marketing & Social Media Intern! In just a short amount of time, her creativity and passion for the arts has already had a huge impact, coming up with fun and engaging campaigns. She fit into the team seamlessly and I can’t wait to see her showcase her skills even more over the next few months. Piper will be capturing the magic of the festival, so if you see her around in September – be sure to say hi!
In her spare time, Piper likes to take advantage of living near the coast and spends lots of time near the ocean!
