In partnership with UBC as part of their summer co-op program, we welcome the wonderful Gabrielle Foo as one of our two Volunteer Coordinators for 2023.
Gabrielle, originally from Singapore, is now enjoying her second year here in Vancouver. As a third-year Psychology student at UBC, she is passionate about understanding and facilitating connections among people. This interest has led her to explore various avenues, including her involvement in a school drama society where she discovered a love for the performing arts. With the team at Vancouver Fringe, she is excited to delve deeper into the world of theatre on a much larger scale.
Volunteering plays a significant role in her life, and she is currently engaged with the Canadian Mental Health Association and Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House. Witnessing the collective impact that volunteers can make in these organizations is something that provides valuable inspiration.
On joining the Fringe, Gabrille said:
“The eclectic energy of Vancouver Fringe (and the team behind it) is what first drew me in, but more importantly it’s the Fringe’s commitment to making theatre as accessible as possible that I love most. I am so excited to be a part of it!”

Gabby always has an open-mind, a sense of curiosity and a stellar work ethic. In the short amount of time I have had the pleasure of working with Gabby, she has made a worthy addition to the team. I’m sure that our volunteers will find her an absolute delight to work with.”
During her free time, Garielle loves to hike and take part in pactically any outdoor activity. She also unleashes her inner-creative as an avid writer of poetry. She’ll tell you it’s bad… but we’re willing to bet otherwise!
Gabrielle’s favourite production – If not my high school’s badly performed production of Lysistrata, then it would have to be Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller.
