60 Seconds With… The Playful and Poetic Minds of ‘Happy Go Lucky’

The ‘Happy Go Lucky’ team share a taste of the adventures to expect during their show…

Briefly introduce yourself/your company…

Solo female artist from Tokyo Japan, who has been touring Fringe circuit since 2007.

What is it that makes your work/company unique?

All puppets are created and operated by Yanomi. You’ll see something you’ve never seen before with intricately beautiful movements. Yanomi has created many physical comedy, standup comedy, and puppetry in the past.

What kind of experience do you hope audiences will have during your show?

Those puppets might remind you of your family, friends, and someone you’ve met in your real lives. You’ll laugh and giggle, and be touched.

Without spoilers, tell us what you think audiences will remember most about your show…
They are likely to remember one of several characters they’ll meet during the performance. For example, there is a small white creature on a glockenspiel, which some people call jellyfish or fairy or angel or clione… you can name it as you like, and you’ll love it.

How do you feel about participating in the 40th anniversary of the Vancouver Fringe!?

I’m so excited! When I was 19 year old I visited Vancouver, which was my very first trip abroad in my whole life. Vancouver was the beginning of my journey.

Tickets for ‘Happy Go Lucky’ are on sale now, taking place at Ballet BC from 5 – 15 Sep. Book your spot today for just $18 per person
